[HOW TO] Install Fringerprint GUI in Ubuntu

Your laptop has the fingerprint detection hardware embedded but that doesn't work in Ubuntu. Ubuntu 12.04/12.10/13.04 version you want to run the fingerprint authentication during running the Ubuntu OS.

You need to add the ppa and run the packages from the terminal to install the fingerprint GUI in Ubuntu. First open Terminal (Clt+Alt+T) and run the command given below:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:fingerprint/fingerprint-gui && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libbsapi policykit-1-fingerprint-gui fingerprint-gui
Then restart the system and login again to get fingerprint GUI authentication. You can logout, login, unlock screen, use root mode using the fingerprint GUI. Another thing using password manually can also be done.

You can use in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal , Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail and get more info from launchpad too.
