[HOW TO] Install Gnome 3 on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal

Ubuntu basically comes with the Unity Interface and use the Unity Interface. But many of the Ubuntu users like the Gnome Interface and work in the Gnome Graphical User Interface (GUI). I am currently using the Ubuntu 12.10 alpha version and just installed the Gnome 3 on my PC and will also work for the full version of Ubuntu 12.10 also. I have added the Gnome 3 because it consists more graphical interface which I like it most.

Here is the print-screen preview of the Gnome 3 interface of my PC:

This the screenshoot of the Gnome 3 Interface. One who is using the Gnome and Gnome 2 surely like the Gnome 3.
To Install the Gnome 3 on Ubuntu first open the Terminal. You can open the terminal window by Clt+Alt+T key. This technique of installing is done from the repository packages using the terminal commands.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

Now Logout your PC and while you are asked to login the password click on the side Icon of the password field and select the Gnome. The image below shows the option to Select the Gnome Interface.

Moreover if you want to use the Gnome 2 Interface use the command given below and run from the terminal.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome2-team/gnome2
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

I have done these method in my PC and hope can also install and add the Gnome 3 or Gnome 2 Interface on Ubuntu 12.10. This method can be used in Ubuntu 12.04 and previous versions also.

                                             Hope This Helps!
